Interior Styling Assistant

POSITION SUMMARY

The Home Staging Styling Assistant is an integral part of the team for all aspects of the company including staging, home renovations, interior design-related projects, and any other ventures the company may pursue. 

The ideal candidate is a top performer with a great attitude and a strong work ethic. They are a self-motivated, out-of-the-box thinker. Excellent communication and organization skills, time-management skills, attention-to-detail, and follow-through are second-nature for them—they take pride in their work. Diplomacy and grace-under-pressure come easily to them.

They have an understanding of home styling and ideally some interior styling experience or strong interest in home staging, interior design or home renovations.

During the time on the job, access to a reliable cell phone and access to a reliable vehicle is required. We are a drama-free, drug-free, non-smoking environment. We work hard but also know how to have fun!

Note: Our work day usually begins at 7:30AM so if you have trouble being timely at that hour, please do not apply. Schedule will vary on a day-to-day basis but typically involves moving around various sites, mainly throughout San Francisco, but occasionally also other Bay Area counties.

We are looking for someone to start the week of August 12 and initially the vacancy is open for 6-10 weeks, with a possibility to extend this beyond, depending on company workload due to the seasonal nature of the home staging industry. We are looking for someone who is able to commit for minimum of three days a week during this time, but more flexibility is desirable.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist the design team with various tasks as needed for staging, home renovations, interior design and other company ventures including but not limited to:

·       Organizing and packing inventory for installations; maintaining accurate inventory management, documentation and labeling

·       Working with move team to maintain seamless off-loading of items for installation / manage loading of items on trucks post installations

·       Staging and styling installations, including tasks such as: packing and unpacking accessories, hanging art, setting up and styling on location, steaming linens, cleaning installed pieces and vacuuming, watering plants, tracking inventory, etc.

·       Maintaining accurate inventory storage within the warehouse including packing and unpacking accessories, artwork, and other décor items

·       Organizing the warehouse and maintain cleanliness on a continual basis

·       Running miscellaneous errands such as deliveries, pick-ups, change-outs, watering plants

·       Maintaining excellent agent, homeowner and Building/HOA relationships

·       Proactively promoting the company, maintaining company reputation and promoting company improvement, innovation and excellence

Other tasks may include:

·       Purchasing plants, accessories or other supplies as needed

·       Other ad-hoc tasks

 

 QUALIFICATIONS  

·       Experience in handling administrative duties

·       Experience working in a team reaching a common goal

·       Ability to take direction well, great memory and attention to detail

·       Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) & Dropbox

·       Experience and comfort working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with ever-changing deadlines

·       Legally eligible to work in the U.S.

·       Excellent command of the English language

·       Previous work experience in design or other related industries is beneficial

·       Access to a reliable vehicle, valid license and insurance preferred

·       Solutions-oriented, creative problem solving, organizational, and time management skills

·       Clear and concise communication skills, both verbal and written

·       Ability to professionally represent the company to agents, clients, showrooms and vendors

·       Ability to interact with peers, management, partners and other staff in a professional manner

·       Ability to work within a team and proactively create harmonious and professional relationships

·       Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

·       Ability to perform various installation tasks such as lifting (up to 40 pounds), on your feet for extended periods, using a ladder, hanging art, ironing & steaming linens, and other physical activities

·       Willingness to observe company policies, procedures, and the instructions of the Principal Designer

·       Quick learner and adaptable to various challenging situations

 

BENEFITS

·       Pay: $20-$26/hr depending on experience

·       This role does not provide any corporate benefits other than the local mandatory benefits

·       You will be added to payroll and paid bi-monthly based on hours worked (upon time-sheet submittal) and reimbursed for work-related mileage and expenses where relevant.
